About the Artist

Leona has lived in Jasper since 1980. She is a graduate of the Fine Arts program at the University of Alberta. Since opening her studio Leona has had numerous one man shows and has participated in several group shows in Alberta. Her work has be collected by, corporations and the many visitors to Jasper, making their their way to new homes around the globe. Leona has also taken part in several projects started in Alberta such as Tuktu Prayers, creating awareness of the plight of the deminishing herds of Cariboo in the Rocky Mountains and in the Jasper Centennial Celebrations thru her creation of the fourty foot panorama titled "360 Degrees; A View from the Top of Old Fort Point". In the winter of 2009 Leona spent some time at Numtijah Lodge as part of the Artist in Residence Program.

Currently her work is represented by the artist herself in Jasper, Alberta and in BC by Hambleton Galleries of Kelowna. As a member of the Jasper Artist Guild her work is on display at the Old Firehall in Jasper during the summer months. Her prints can be ordered directly from her studio or if you are passing through Jasper a selection is available at Bearfoot in the Park across from the Via Train Station on Connaught St.
